Drinking water, done right

Reverse osmosis (RO) is the gold standard for drinking-water quality. An RO system installs under your kitchen sink, has its own dedicated tap, and produces water that’s been pushed through a semi-permeable membrane that filters out essentially everything dissolved in the water — minerals, sodium (from a softener), nitrates, lead, chlorine, fluoride, microscopic contaminants. The result is exceptionally clean water for drinking, cooking, ice, and pets.

How it works

Water passes through 4–6 stages depending on the system:

  1. Sediment pre-filter — removes sand, rust, particulates
  2. Carbon pre-filter — removes chlorine before it reaches the membrane
  3. RO membrane — the magic step; removes dissolved solids
  4. Storage tank — pressurized tank for on-demand supply
  5. Post-carbon (polish) filter — final taste refinement
  6. Optional remineralization stage — adds back small amounts of minerals for taste and pH

The membrane is what makes RO different from regular filtration. Standard carbon filters remove some contaminants; RO membranes are nano-scale and remove almost everything.

Why people install it

  • Better-tasting water — measurable improvement at the first sip
  • Cleaner ice — no taste, no cloudiness
  • Coffee and tea actually taste like coffee and tea — without the mineral interference
  • Replaces bottled water — pays for itself in 1–2 years for most households
  • Removes sodium — important if your home has a water softener
  • Pets and plants benefit — many sensitive plants and fish need RO water
  • Cooking improvement — pasta water, soups, baby food

What we install

We work with proven RO systems from established brands. Most installs are 4 or 5-stage residential units sized for typical kitchen use. We can also install whole-home RO for special situations (medical needs, water testing failures), though it’s overkill for most homes.

Installation

About 2 hours start to finish. We:

  • Tie into your cold-water supply under the sink
  • Install the system on the cabinet wall or floor
  • Add the dedicated faucet at your sink (we’ll match your existing fixtures’ finish)
  • Connect to your drain via an air gap
  • Optionally plumb the line to your refrigerator’s ice maker / water dispenser
  • Sanitize the system, fill the tank, and test the output

Maintenance

  • Pre-filters: every 6–12 months
  • RO membrane: every 2–3 years depending on usage and source water
  • Post-filter: every 12 months
  • Sanitize the tank: every 12–24 months

We’ll show you how to handle filter changes yourself or schedule routine service.
